Join Central Coast APS on Saturday 13th July, we will meet Jackie Pearson, who has had an amazing career as a journalist, ghostwriter, editor, campaigner and independent publisher, will be talking to us about wetlands of the Central Coast. Jackie is the Community Liaison Officer for the Community Environment Network (CEN) and as well, publishes her own news site promoting ethical public interest journalism
There are more than 20,000 wetlands in New South Wales where important and unique ecosystems flourish providing valuable biodiversity and habitat for plants and animals. Jackie will show us where our regional major wetlands are, focusing on three of the most significant, Porters Creek Wetland at Warnervale, Spring Creek Wetland at Doyalson and the Central Coast Wetland at Tacoma. We will learn their history, their current status, likely future and most importantly, how we can protect and preserve them.
