Field monitoring of Prostanthera densa in Royal National Park, NSW by the Sutherland Group, APS NSW for the NSW Save Our Species Program

Members of the Sutherland Group, APS NSW have been involved in monitoring populations of Prostanthera densa in the Royal National Park for the NSW Save Our Species program. This final report supersedes the four progress reports previously posted here.

Spring Gully, Bundeena

A developer has lodged a development application to build an eco-lodge at Spring Gully, Bundeena, which is a 5.6 hectares area of magnificent gully bushland adjoining the Royal National Park. It has also applied to build an access road through the National Park in order to access the site.  The Sutherland Group of APS NSW is opposed to the development and the proposed road access which will have an impact on threatened species habitat and endangered ecological communities.

Submission on Draft Plan of Management for Grey-headed Flying foxes, Kareela.

The Sutherland Group does not support any attempts by the Sutherland Shire Council to relocate a colony  of vulnerable Grey-headed Flying Foxes at Kareela, as there is a high risk the flying foxes may relocate to an unsuitable location.


Submission to the Review of Weeds Management in NSW,

Sutherland Group APS NSW made a submission on 3 December 2013 to the Review of Weeds Management in NSW by the National Resource Commission.   The Sutherland Group strongly believes that weed control is extremely important for the preservation of our native vegetation ecosystems and unique flora species.

Letter of support for World Heritage Listing of Royal National Park

The Sutherland Group of APS NSW strongly supports the submission for the World Heritage listing of the Royal National Park with UNESCO.
