North Shore - Meeting & talk: Beside the seaside

  • 10 Mar 2023
  • 7:30 PM
  • Beatrice Taylor Hall, behind Wallarobba Arts and Cultural Centre, 25 Edgeworth David Avenue, Hornsby

Brian Roach has a long experience of propagating a diverse range of native plants.
In this talk he will share an amazing new development with the dwarf Christmas Bush, Ceratopetalum gummiferum, along with information about an exciting new banksia, Banksia vincentia, which is critically endangered on the shores of Jervis Bay. The good news is that it is extremely easy to propagate.

Brian will address the question 'to what extent do seaside conditions such as wind and salt spray possibly change the genetics of a plant such as Ceratopetalum?'

All welcome. 7.30 for 8.00 pm.

Plant sales from 7:45 pm (cash only, please bring change). Refreshments afterwards.

The NSG botanical library is also available for members to browse and borrow items.
