Walk through the Coffs Coast Regional Park on the north shore of Wilgulga Lake. The forest is dominated by Blackbutt but also includes mangrove-lined creeks and wet gullies supporting rainforest species. The walk will include an inspection of the Landcare site at the end of Killawarra Close, Safety Beach where weed removal is aimed at regenerating the forest which includes a mix of wet sclerophyll forest and litoral rainforest species. The forest walk is along formed paths but includes some uneven ground and a few steps.
Afterwards APS member Janet will showcase the garden she is establishing at Safety Beach. The front and side native gardens (formerly lawn) have been established progressively over the last two years. The back garden includes a mix of natives and exotics. Access via a steep driveway, a path with some steps or level access at the side.
