Southern Tablelands - Propagation learning session

  • 19 Mar 2022
  • 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • 20km west of Goulburn

Designed for members who are relatively new to these skills.

The workshop will mainly cover the striking of cuttings from native plants that grow in gardens around the Goulburn area. If you have a particular plant growing at your place bring a small amount of it with you and we can give it a go.

Participants will take home at least two pots of cuttings they have created. Any extra pots go into our propagation unit for sale at later dates. Some Acacia seed will also be provided so participants can have a go at germinating it at home after an explanation of what to do. Some species are better for germination from seed as opposed to taking a cutting.

Potting up of struck cuttings will also be covered. We will leave those cuttings in the group’s propagator and when they need potting up, the workshop participants will be called!

This is a good opportunity for new and recent members to meet other members of the group, especially as several experienced growers will be present to help out.

Tea and coffee provided. Bring morning tea eats to share.

All NSW Health Covid-19 guidelines will be observed.  Workshop is held in a semi-open area.

APS members only

Registration essential  by email to Jen at southerntablelands@austplants.com.au

Details and directions will then be provided.
