Northern Beaches - Meeting & talk: Plants for gardens in the shade

  • 3 Aug 2023
  • 7:15 PM
  • The Corkery Building, Stony Range Regional Botanic Garden, 810 Pittwater Rd, Dee Why

Angela (Angie) Michaelis is a qualified horticulturalist and enthusiastic bushcarer well-known to APS NSW members. Angie has been a popular speaker at many meetings, particularly for Parramatta Hills group.

Angie learned about native plants when helping her husband Mark Ferrington run the specialist Sydney Wildflower Nursery West for nearly 20 years. She now lives in inner-city Sydney where her small back garden has only one sunny corner.

In more recent times Angie has written some entertaining and informative articles on the influence of Ancient Greek on some botanical names of Australian plants. She currently enjoys learning Greek and has hunted for plants on a Greek holiday!

Drawing on her extensive experience as a gardener and bush regenerator, Angie will be sure to inspire those of us with shady spots in our gardens.

All welcome.
